09|09|88: "At Last"

I said I'd be back when I had something meaningful to report..[and, to rejuvenate my membership in the 'Loser's Bowl'-- that is, ppl who blog aimlessly ;) ]..And this, surpasses 'meaningful'

He's BIG, he's BAD, he's BLACK and now he is ICONIC. Ppl love him for this, and that's fine. But we love him, more importantly, because we understand him !!

And we believe that he understands US!

Governing and presiding over a people is primarily about having the interests and concerns of the people at the forefront of every major decision and proceeding. In order to do this you must wholly understand or be in a constant maintained effort to understand the people. BHO is all of this and more...

The emotion and social movement of his election and presidency is unprecedented and can barely be placed into the correct words. I'm sure we have heard more than we could have ever imagined about this beautiful, historical time.. and are all equally ecstatic, engrossed, & bathed in its glory

In reflecting on the grandeur of the events of this year so far and the last & how it all sincerely affects us, Consider the last time or when you've Ever understood politics like this, when you Cared about it, when you truly had a sensible & realistic input, when you realized that CNN wasn't a foreign language channel.

Speaking from the window of my world I have never been so involved, sitting for hours on end watching, reading the things that inform me because I Make the time to be informed, and I actually Want to know. The closest I've ever come was in the seventh grade [thank God for Lawrence Woodmere Academy] when the Bush v. Gore election was under way. Young as I was I stayed informed as I could, both for NUMEROUS school projects and for sheer interest as to what this was all about because it was evident that it wAs and was Going to be, huge.
Today I am not only old enough to understand fully but old enough to participate, to discuss it, to be genuinely excited about political future, to VOTE [this being, my first active presidential election, how excting is THAT?!!]..thank you JESUS! I VOTED for this man! How crazy is that! I contributed to what is now this history..that's going to be in my child's text books. I can't even begin to explain how I'm sure we all feel.
I burst into tears when I saw that 296.. And I'm just overall grateful that I'm witnessing, and experiencing it all fully. And also for being in the environment that I'm in today, the friends that I am surrounded by who are just as excited, involved, & informed as I am. I have to thank both my BEST friend, Sug, and probably one of my COOLEST friends , Sarah, with whom I have watched the most CNN in my Life with [simultaneously being hypnotized by the beauty that is Anderson Cooper, lol...but I digress]

Inspi(red) is the only word to describe the fire that is ignited by ppl like BHO and times like these.

I wont preach, because the message, I think, is nothing less than extremely evident in these days. So I just look in the mirror everyday at an overwhelmingly content smile, eyes filled with a persistent white fire, and a heart that's hell bent on the dreams I am Sure will one day be just as Real as the day ahead.

In this video are two men that I admire on general terms both because of their individual accomplishments and stature as a whole, and because they believe in the common ideology--
come from the dirt and change your world.. theN CHANGE THE World.
